It was going to be a long drive from Kansas City to Denver. Could be 11 hours and when I need to take a pitstop, I need to stop quickly. We could eat bars and we stocked up on water bottles and red bulls, so we wouldn ‘t need to stop to eat. The goal was to see the sunset over the Rocky Mountains. I haven’t seen the Rockies for 15 years. That is when I lived in Colorado Springs. Moving back east would be on my list of biggest mistakes in my life if I allowed myself to go there. Giving myself the freedom to consider moving again has been a huge step!
The scenery on the way through Kansas wasn’t the most exciting, but it wasn’t totally boring. It was the first rain we ran into on the trip, but it didn’t last too long. The picture is a scary cloud that we watched for some time hoping that it was not going to turn into a tornado. If it did, we didn’t see it, but when we passed under it, the winds shook our car around a little bit.
We made the goal and were able to watch the sunset over the Rockies! What an amazing view to see the night behind you and daylight ahead of you. You can see so far over Kansas from Denver! Denver is definitely a great place for artists to live and 300 days of sunshine each year make even more desirable.
